| Haworth has a unique approach when it comes to data distribution and its ever changing layout. Our philosophy is to first understand the customer’s needs for today and their future growth and management plans. Based on this we design a system with full functionality today with the flexibility and capacity to handle the future. Existing designs utilize an inflexible “homerun” data cable layout to each workspace. If changes are required the “homerun” cable must be removed (harvested) and thrown into a landfill. A new data “homerun” must then be installed. At Haworth, we utilize plug and play technology to provide 60% faster installations, to provide 90% faster moves adds and changes and to provide sustainability by reusing the Outlet tap portion of the data connection. Our Zone distribution design methodology lays out a grid of data zones which deliver data to where the customer needs it. Once the zone consolidation point is the positioned on the floor plate, it does not change. The only changes are the moves, adds or changes (MAC’s) of the pre manufactured outlet taps from the consolidation point to the desktop connection. The Haworth Pre-Terminated Zone data system is comprised of the following parts: Standard components – 7 ft. equipment racks, patch panels, jacks Standard cabling – 1000 ft. cable reels (plenum and non plenum) Zone Consolidation points – 12 zone box, UMS patch panels, 24 and 48 port patch panels, plenum boxes, external point consolidation point housings Outlet taps – pre manufactured cables with an outlet jack (RJ45) on one end and a modular plug on the other end.
